Nives

Mental Health Accredited Social Worker

Nives completed her tertiary studies in Psychology and Social Work at the University of Sydney in 1994. She is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Clinical Supervisor with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Nives’ expertise is informed by a clinical counselling career spanning over 30 years. She has a breadth of experience in working with a diverse range of clients including those with complex needs. She has worked extensively in women’s health, trauma support and crisis management, and has held senior clinical roles within NSW Health and Department of Veterans Affairs. More recently, she provided counselling and support services as part of the National Redress Scheme to Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse.

Nives has also worked with LGBTQI, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and ATSI communities, providing counselling and facilitating groups. 

 Nives’ clinical skills include EMDR, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Solution Focused Therapy.

 Combined with her warm and friendly style, Nives’ psychotherapeutic approach is holistic, person-centred and trauma informed. She is passionate about mental health and wellness and works with the needs of the individual in mind. Her goal is to help clients reach their full potential through personal growth and healing.

In her free time, Nives spends time in nature and enjoys swimming in the ocean. Nives is fluent in Croatian.
